Dear Parents, Caregivers and Extended Whanau,

It would be great to see some of you commenting on class blogs each week!

This is an opportunity for you to get involved in your child's learning and comment on their success and next steps. Our blogs provide an opportunity for room 8 to share what they are doing and learning to a wider audience. Our posts are a snippet of some of what your child has been learning. This is a great way to share what learning, initiatives and experiences your child has been involved in.
Ask them questions and get them to explain to your what they are doing.
As Teachers, Heather and Bernie will make regular updates to class posts about what they are learning and would love your feedback
:-)

On Wednesday Tony and Kris came to talk to Room 8 about being FIREWISE!
The class knew that we must.....
get down, get low and get out and stay out of a building if it is on fire.
We practiced running through 'smoke' to get out out of a building if it is on fire.
I was impressed how quickly the class got out and lined up outside. Room 8 had some great questions also and we learnt how quickly a fire could spread.
We also know to dial 111 and ask for the fire department and state our name, address and city if we need to call in a fire emergency.
